St. Ambrose Church Choir and 5th Oldham Scout Group

My name is Michael Meredith (now living near Cambridge UK).

I was a choirboy and later a server in the St. Ambrose church choir, Watersheddings around 1958-1960. Also a member of the 5th Oldham wolf cub pack and scout group.

My father Ron or Ronnie Meredith was "Skip" - scoutmaster and indeed founder of the 5th Oldham boy scouts group, later joined by Norman Chidgey whose scouting name was "Kim".

I would like to make contact with anyone who remembers me or who was in the Saint Ambrose choir in the late 1950s to early 1960s, and also anyone who knew myself, or my late father, in the Fifth Oldham scout troup.

St. Ambrose church is still standing, though the stained glass windows have been removed and the whole building has been gutted and renovated to form a nursery, run by Ambrose Nursery Ltd, Prince Charlie Street, Oldham, OL1 4HJ.
