Mike is a physiologist & former veterinary surgeon, with 25 years experience of veterinary clinical work, research and teaching (he taught at The Royal Veterinary College, Univ. of London and in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge). In 1996 he left academic life to work as an information specialist in Farm Animal Health, Welfare and Food Safety. After making an holistic study of the human and veterinary aspects of the UK (world's worst) foot-and-mouth disease epidemic in 2001, Mike left the veterinary profession to pursue a new career in hmuan stress management consultancy and holistic healing.

He comments "Increasingly I find that my stress consultancy and healing focus is on training people in the skills and arts of self-healing (see healer training) which is an excellent route for developing our abilities to facilitate the healing of others".
