Help, I'm Laughing and I Can't Get Up
Fall-down Funny Stories to Fill Your Heart and Lift Your Spirit
by
Liz Curtis Higgs
Laughing is a form of CATHARSIS and has the power to heal. As the old saying goes "Laughter is the best medicine!" Liz Curtis Higgs has an excellent compilation of true life stories in her chapter on "Humour and Healing" and another compilation in the chapter on "Humor as a Stress-Reliever".
Liz reports how cancer sufferers used humour to aid their coping and survival, and how others used humour to help them cope with and transcend grief after the loss of a loved one.

Really Bad Girls of the Bible
More Lessons from Less Than Perfect Women
by
Liz Curtis HiggsThis book focuses on a really interesting (and sometimes unusual) selection of biblical women - when was the last time you read some thing in detail about Athaliah or Jael? The style is easy to read and I like the way the author moves between the biblical story, modern day retelling and application. However I found the style a little too gentle to be really gripping - it was an easy book to dip in and out of.

The Sunflower Parable (Parable Series)
(Childrens' Book)
by
Liz Curtis Higgs
Synopsis
Logan discovers how much good can come from the sunflowers he lovingly tends all summer. Text is interspersed with Bible verses.
Introduction by the author
Let's grow, grow, GROW!
Although I could never pick a favorite among the four Parable books for children, and all four won the ECPA Gold Medallion for Preschool Children's Books, I must admit I love the artwork in this one best, simply because I love sunflowers! Big, bright, bold, beautiful sunflowers adorn nearly every page...and wait until you see what happens when you reach the center page of the book! Nancy Munger's artwork really shines in this one. I pray you'll find the story meaningful, too. When Logan watches what happens to all those sunflower seeds, his heart is full to bursting! Hope your heart will be as well.Ordering pages (Amazon):
